JBS Terminais acquires exclusivity for cargo from/to the East Coast of the United States at the Itajaí-Açú River Complex

Starting in December, 2024, JBS Terminais, the lessee of the Port of Itajaí, will operate the USA to SAEC (String 1) service, also known as USA I, exclusively, at the Itajaí-Açú River Complex. This service will handle containers from/to the East Coast of the United States via Itajaí.

Operated by the shipping company MSC (the largest container shipping company in the world), USA I has 12 vessels, with capacities ranging from 5,500 TEUs to 8,700 TEUs (TEU would be the unit of measurement for a 20-foot container).

The main export cargoes handled are: Wood and its derivatives, Ceramic Products and Frozen Meat.

In terms of imports, the main cargoes handled are: Plastic and its products, Beverages and rubber and its derivatives.
